Taking place alongside the main C3West programming, Madang Gurrung Ngurra was a 3-day intensive art workshop for senior secondary students. In 2015 workshops took place in both March and June.
From 9-11 March 2015 students met and worked with artists, curators, Aboriginal elders and community members involved in the Blacktown Native Institution Artist Camps. Participants were able to visit and learn about this important local site and develop skills in art making and studying.
From 15-17 June 2015 students spent 3 days at Blacktown Arts Centre, working with MCA Artist Educators and BNI Project artists on weaving and creating their own stories in response to the historic site. Following the camp, students were able to visit MCA to listen to Senior Curator Anne Loxley speak about C3West in the Exchange series.
